Magical Unicorn Chocolate BarkAug 15, 2016
Unicorns, rainbows and anything magical is a big yes at at Bakes HQ. We love using colour and sprinkles and get the edible glitter out whenever possible. We decided to make a batch of chocolate bark so we could get creative and inspire you guys to make your own. All you need to do is melt some white chocolate, pour it into a tray, swirl in food colouring, add some sprinkles and dust with glitter. This is a great activity for the kids and you can slice it up and give it out as presents. Ingredients (makes x1 tray) 200g white chocolate Light pink food colouring Dark pink food colouring Yellow food colouring Sprinkles Edible glitter Method Melt the white chocolate either in the microwave in blasts of 30 seconds, mixing well in between each blast or in a glass bowl over a pan of just simmering water, being careful not to let the water touch the bottom of the bowl. Once melted, pour onto a tray lined with greaseproof paper. Spread using a knife until even and then tap the tray on the table so the chocolate becomes smooth. Use a cocktail stick to swirl the different food colourings into the chocolate and then sprinkle over the glitter and sprinkles. Place in the fridge to set for 3 hours and then either use a hot sharp knife (ran under the hot tap and then dried) to cut the bark into triangles or break it using your hands. You can make all different sorts of bark depending what you’ve got in the cupboard. You could swirl white and dark chocolate together and then sprinkle over popcorn and small lumps of fudge. Or maybe add glace cherries and marshmallows to dark chocolate to give the flavours of rocky road.
